Is it wrong that I am peev’d it hasn’t arrived yet?  I did the right thing by Apple, pre-ordered online! Committed to buying it sight unseen… and I am the one waiting! (and I bet I’m not alone) Stockists like Jb HiFi and Harvey Norman still have them in stock, I am thinking of cancelling my order with Apple Online and just walking down the street.

To rub salt into the wounds… Apple sent out the iPad cover I had ordered in the same transaction.

Ordered our Ipad back in May… still waiting! Delivery estimate is June 7th.  Should have lined up like everyone else.

As mentioned below, I have finally got an iPhone!  On the surface it has been very impressive!

The iPhone has great applications both free and paid through it’s app store, some developers have been very creative with what you can run.

The device looks flashy, it’s menu is quick and the usability is great. But does it have the right features for a business user?

I don’t think so!

  • Battery Life is poor…  And be mindful if you have it connecting to wireless networks.
  • No direct USB connection, to store files directly.  (I found a wifi, sharing app that cleverly gets around this but need’s wifi)
  • Calendar reminders – If you accept on the device the computer will still remind you.
  • Using Exchange Active Sync, doesn’t allow connection to internal app’s like the intranet.

The Blackberry Bold on the other hand has the answer to all of these…

Finally gave into market pressure and got an iPhone! So far so good….. But a bluetooth keyboard would be handy!

If the iPhone had a blackberry network interface, it would be a real draw card for corporates.  At the moment Blackberry is popular only because of the application and email push technology… most people are bored of the basic devices that do no more than any common phone.

An iPhone becomes more like a portable computer in your pocket with a screen that make using the internet actually possible.
